Robert Kowalski is a Media Informatics graduate from the Ludwig Maximilians-University in Munich (Germany). Additionally, he holds an Honours Degree in Technology Management from the Center for Digital Technology and Management (CDTM). During his studies, he has spent a term abroad at the School of Information at the UC Berkeley as a Visiting
Student Researcher, where he has done his own research, collaborated with Prof. Kimiko Ryokai as her research assitant and audited courses.
Besides his studies Robert has worked on many projects in academia and in diverse industries. During his time at the Department for Media Informatics he has focused on Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Interaction Design, (mobile) Prototyping as well as User-Centered Design. Industry partners include Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi), BMW, Siemens Enterprise Communications, Nokia Research Center Palo Alto, PAY.ON and more.
As a result of his passion for HCI/Design/Innovation and Product Development related projects he has designed and teaches the 'Sketching with Hardware' and paper prototyping class at CDTM, is mentoring LMU students and keeps working on his own crazy ideas and concepts.
Currently, Robert Kowalski is a Sofware Architect for the jambit GmbH in the area of Research & Development and he is part of the innovation consulting team at I+. Additionally, he co-founded PLUSME, which provides a mobile solution for intuitive, fast and efficient event planning on the go, and works as a CTO there.
