Robert (Bob) Malte was named EvergreenHealth's Chief Executive Officer in April 2010 and is responsible for the strategy and leadership for all aspects of EvergreenHealth's mission and vision. During his tenure at EvergreenHealth, the system has been nationality recognized for its performance and commitment to quality, safety, service,
and value to the community.
Prior to coming to EvergreenHealth, Malte was President & CEO of Exempla Lutheran Medical Center near Denver, Colorado, from 2003 to 2010, where he helped the system become a nationally awarded healthcare system. For 13 years prior to Exempla, he held several senior leadership roles at ThedaCare in Appleton Wisconsin, including Senior Vice President of the Hospital Division and Chief Operating Officer of Touchpoint Health Plan, and was part of Thedacare’s initial explorations into the application of Lean in healthcare.
He earned a Master of Business Administration at The University of Chicago Graduate School of Business in 1982 and a Bachelors of Arts in Economics at Ripon College in Wisconsin.
He is a member of several boards, including the Washington State Hospital Association, First Choice Health Plan, and the Greater Kirkland Chamber of Commerce. He also serves on the President’s Advisory Committee for the Lake Washington Institute of Technology and is a Rotarian.
