As Head of Information Technology for the Rugby Football Union (RFU), Rob has overall responsibility for all facets of technology across the Sport of Rugby Union within England, working out of Twickenham Stadium, the home of England rugby. Twickenham is the largest stadium in the world devoted solely to the sport of Rugby Union, holding over 82500
spectators. The RFU and Twickenham recently hosted the Rugby World Cup final for which the objective was to make the stadium the most technologically advanced of any stadium in the world, both in terms of broadcast media and overall fan experience. The tournament was held across 11 cities in England and Wales with 48 matches played by 20 nations over 44 days. The tournament was watched by over 4 billion viewers across 207 countries and had an expected economic impact of over £2bn
Rob is also responsible for the overall design and implementation of all systems that administer the control and the running of Rugby Union across the country, across 50 Constituent Bodies, over 2000 clubs and 1.5 million participants in the sport.
Following a commission in the Royal Air Force, Rob entered the world of technology with Virgin Atlantic before switching to the RFU. Currently living in South West London, Rob is passionate about all sports with obvious special attention to Rugby Union and Golf without any notable playing success in either.
