Ray Newal is the founder and CEO of Jigsee Inc, a company he started after having spent a decade doing business development for several of the world's top internet companies, including DoubleClick, Microsoft, and Yahoo.
Newal started Jigsee upon recognizing the technological and economic constraints which prevented video and other forms of media from being accessible to audiences, particularly in the developing world.
Newal studied economics and social sciences at York University, where he first became aware of the potential impact of the internet as a democratizer of information.
With more than 5 million downloads within less than 9 months of launch, Jigsee is one of the most popular mobile video applications in South Asia.
