Nigel founded Culross in 1992 and is the Chief Investment Officer. As CIO he is a member of the Investment Committee and has final responsibility for manager selection and portfolio management.
Nigel began his career in 1980 as a fixed income portfolio manager in the London investment offices of the Insurance Company of North America (INA) which
in the 1980’s became CIGNA. During the 1980’s CIGNA became one of the largest global multi-line insurers with the London office managing all insurance and re-insurance portfolios outside the US. Nigel was appointed Head of Fixed Income in 1986, managing portfolios totaling $3.5bn and leading a team of 24 employees. In 1989 Nigel and a team of eleven from CIGNA left to found Century Asset Management where, as CIO, he led the management of global fixed income portfolios with active futures and options overlays pursuing an absolute return objective.
Nigel studied Engineering and Geography at Gonville & Caius College, University of Cambridge graduating with an M.A.
