After his MSc degree in Physics & Astronomy at the University of Amsterdam, he started as an R&D Engineer at the Dutch National Aerospace Laboratory (NLR). During his position at NLR he started a PhD research at the faculty of Aerospace Engineering at Delft University of Technology. His research concentrates on Preventative NDT for Process
Improvement of Composite materials. After gaining Operational Excellence Consultancy experience at Deloitte Consulting, he certified as Black Belt in a Leadership program at AkzoNobel Industrial Chemicals and supported the L6S program as trainer, change manager and Black Belt. In H1 2014 he was on assignment at the AkzoNobel MCA Shanghai office. Since December 2014 he is Innovation Excellence Manager, responsible for the design and implementation of Innovation Core Processes at BU and BA level. He leads the program Industrial Chemicals 4.0, to scope and assess the impact of Industry 4.0. For 2017 he is responsible to setup a Corporate Launchlab for a Chemical-Energy platform, therefore a pilot is started at the Launchlab Spring 2016 edition with "Chemical Predictive Analytics"
