Mr. Nick A. Khouri has been Vice President of Regulatory Affairs at DTE Energy Co. since September 1, 2012. Mr. Khouri served as the a Vice President and Treasurer of DTE Energy Co. until September 1, 2012. He was responsible for all banking relationships, cash management, corporate finance, enterprise risk management and pension investments.
Prior to joining DTE Energy, Mr. Khouri served as the Vice President of Public Sector Consultants Inc. from 1997 to 1999. During this time, he concentrated in the areas of economic development, public infrastructure investment, and state and local tax policy. Mr. Khouri served as the Chief Deputy Treasurer for the State of Michigan from 1991 to 1997.
Prior to joining the state treasury, he served as the Chief Economist for the Senate Fiscal Agency. He serves as a Director at Invest Detroit. He serves on the Board of Directors of Citizens Research Council of Michigan and Energy Insurance Mutual, and is a member of Detroit's Local Initiatives Support Group. Mr. Khouri served as an Analyst in the macro-economic division of the U.S. Congressional Budget Office in Washington, D.C., and as an Economist with the Bureau of Economic Analysis, U.S. Department of Commerce in Washington, D.C. He served as the Chairman of the Michigan Municipal Bond Authority and a Member of the Michigan State Housing Development Authority, and the Michigan Hospital Finance Authority.
Since 1993, Mr. Khouri served as a Member of Michigan Governor John Engler's Task Force on Educational Reform with responsibility for developing the Governor's recommendation for school financing alternatives.
Mr. Khouri holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Michigan and a Master's degree in Economics from Michigan State University.
