Nicholas Flom is the Executive Director for the Northern Plains Unmanned Aircraft Systems Test Site, an organization designated by the Federal Aviation Administration to conduct critical research into the certification and operational requirements necessary to safely integrate UAS into the national airspace system. Previously, Nicholas Flom was the
Director of Safety for the Test Site where he chaired the Independent Safety Review Board for the Test Site, implemented the Safety Management System and was responsible for ensuring that safety is the test site’s highest priority. Nicholas Flom represents the Test Site in multi-stakeholder standards groups and industry activities.
Nicholas Flom holds an Airline Transport Pilot certificate for single and multi-engine land with over 4,000 flight hours. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Commercial Aviation from the University of North Dakota.
