Marius Poke received his PhD in developing high-performance consensus algorithms and initially conceived the simulation engine to evaluate the consensus algorithms AllConcur/AllConcur+, which he developed together with Colin. The simulation engine follows a modular design, can switch between a number of consensus algorithms and simulates the
behaviour of a system from the application layer down to the network layer.
