Kurt Hanson is the founder and CEO of AccuRadio, a radio and music streaming application.
He is also the publisher of RAIN: Radio And Internet Newsletter, a web-based newsletter for the fast-growing field of internet radio.
As a popular keynote speaker, he has given his “State of the Industry Address” speech on the future of radio at
conferences around the world, and is quoted regularly by top news sources including the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, USA Today, Chicago Tribune, The Globe and Mail, and cable channels CNN, and CNBC.
Hanson developed his reputation and expertise within the radio industry as the founder and CEO of Strategic Media Research (1980-2000), a market research firm respected throughout the radio industry for its music research program and its ratings product, which he built into a $10 million business. In high school, college, and throughout graduate school, Hanson worked at various major radio stations, including WOKY, WLS, WDAI, and WLUP.
He holds a B.A. and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago.
