Kathy is a Senior Advisor to Highland providing strategic guidance and advice to the firm’s operations team. Kathy was previously Highland’s Chief Financial Officer for 18 years and during that time was responsible for the financial and administrative affairs of the firm. In addition, with an extensive background in managing the financial and operational aspects of both private and public technology companies, Kathy focused on advising portfolio companies on a broad range of administrative, financial and operational matters.
Prior to joining Highland, Kathy was the Vice President of Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer for Microsurge, a Highland portfolio company that manufactured minimally invasive surgical instruments. From 1984 to 1994, she held various financial management positions at Lifeline Systems, a publicly traded healthcare services organization. Kathy began her career in 1980 at Coopers and Lybrand, and where she specialized is the firm’s emerging businesses practice, serving many venture-backed technology companies. Kathy is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Kathy earned a M.S., Accountancy from Bentley College and a B.S., Education from West Chester University.
