Jon was appointed vice president – Tax in May 2001, having previously served as director of Tax since March 1997, and manager of Tax since August 1992.
Prior to joining the company, Sauer was tax manager with Swift Energy Company, Houston, Texas, from 1989 to 1992, and a manager in the tax practice of Arthur Andersen & Co., an independent
public accounting firm, from 1983 to 1989.
He is a certified public accountant and past chairman of the American Exploration & Production Council (formerly Domestic Petroleum Council) tax committee, and he serves on the tax committee of the American Petroleum Institute.
Sauer received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of North Dakota. .
