John F. Young is the CEO of Energy Future Holdings Corp., a Dallas-based energy company with a portfolio of competitive and regulated businesses, including TXU Energy, Luminant and Oncor.

EFH, a Fortune 500 company, is the largest power generator, retail electricity provider and electric delivery business in Texas. Under Young’s leadership, the

company has completed a $10 billion investment in capital improvements, adding 2,200 megawatts of new clean-air generation, making environmental upgrades on all its coal units, transforming the electric grid with smart technology, providing millions of dollars in low-income assistance and creating innovative, market-leading products and services to give customers greater choice, control and convenience. EFH and its employees also partner to serve communities and in the past five years have contributed more than $14 million to the annual United Way/TXU Energy AidSM campaign.

Prior to joining EFH, Young was executive vice president of finance and markets at Exelon Corporation, one of the nation’s largest electric companies, with responsibilities for the finance functions and the trading and marketing organization, the Power Team. Young’s previous leadership responsibilities at Exelon included the role of president of Exelon Generation, where he managed the company’s nuclear, fossil and hydro operations as well as the Power Team. He joined Exelon Power as chief operating officer and was soon named president of the operating unit.
