Joe Piper has 15+ years of venture capital experience, 25+ years of healthcare investment and transaction experience. Prior to Point B Capital, Joe conducted over $1 billion in M&A transactions in addition to co-founding Integra Ventures, a life science VC fund. He also co-founded Diversified Health Services, an outsourcing healthcare services
company, which grew to be the largest post-acute third-party outsourcing company in healthcare and was sold to ServiceMaster in the early 1990's. Joe has been involved in making over 25 VC investments and brings the perspective of an experienced investor (diligence, portfolio assemblage, risk management, portfolio balance, reserves), company operations (business-building), and structuring (legal, syndication, governance).
Joe's past board involvement includes Mad Fiber, Inc., Blue Heron Biotechnologies, MediQuest Therapeutics, Inc., CardioMetrix, Inc., Cara Vita, National Healing, HealthHelp, Inc., Voluntary Hospitals of America DHS division, Amnis, Targeted Growth, National Multiple Sclerosis Society GNWC, and Seattle University Albers School of Business Micro-enterprise Board.
Joe was also an architect of Fast Forward, a $60mm venture philanthropy fund started within the National Multiple Sclerosis Society to pursue the next generation of MS therapies. He received his BS in Business at Arizona State University where he played basketball. He also holds an MBA from the University of Colorado and a JD from Seattle University. The father of four, he enjoys sports, travel, art, and his family.
