Dr. Pollard joined 23andMe as Director of Medical Affairs in 2012.
He is responsible for the company's efforts to advance the integration of personal genomics into the modern healthcare environment through educational initiatives and strategic partnerships with integral members of the healthcare system. He is a double board-certified
physician and surgeon with over a decade of clinical experience and has published numerous research articles, contributed to textbooks and trained other surgeons around the nation.
Prior to joining 23andMe, Dr. Pollard co-founded and served as Medical Director of Surgical Services for Réviance, a multi-center specialty practice and surgical center.
He also served as Medical Expert Network Director for HealthTap, an innovative digital and mobile health platform. Dr. Pollard was also selected as a regional educator by Allergan, Inc. responsible for training healthcare providers in advanced medication delivery techniques to enhance clinical outcomes.
Dr. Pollard holds a B.S. in Health Psychology from Duke University.
M.D. from Vanderbilt University.
He completed both his Internship in General Surgery and Residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Stanford University.
Fellowship training in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery with Calvin M. Johnson, Jr., M.D. at Tulane University.
He is a member of the American Academy of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.
