Jeff purchased his first AM/FM radio stations in 1985 at the age of 23 and left JP Morgan to operate the New Hampshire radio stations as a hands-on owner/manager. Since then, Jeff has owned, operated, and sold over 110 radio stations in with a primary focus on turnarounds and start-ups. He currently owns radio stations in NH, VT, and MA.
Jeff’s interest and investments in radio led him to other media opportunities including his efforts as Chairman/Co-Owner/Co-Founder of InStore Audio Network, America’s largest in-store audio advertising network that reaches over 200 million shoppers each week with audio content beamed throughout the store. The company serves 33,000 retail stores in America including every major pharmacy and supermarket chain. Jeff is also the founder of Vertical Capital Partners, a private equity firm that specializes in media investments in turnaround situations. Jeff currently serves as the Founder/Chairman of Nantucket Public Radio Inc, owner of Nantucket’s NPR station. In addition, Jeff serves on the Board of Overseers of the Dartmouth Skiway in Lyme, NH and volunteers as a Reviewer for the Advanced Entrepreneurship MBA Course at The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. He obtained his AB, cum laude, in Economics/Environmental Studies from Dartmouth where he served as GM of the College’s fully commercial AM/FM radio station. Jeff lives in Hanover, New Hampshire, is married and has three boys. He is an avid cyclist, runner, skier and tennis player.
