Janani Ramesh is an innovator, executive, and educator who transforms how learning and care is delivered around the world.
She holds a Master's in Education from the Rossier School of Education, with a focus on medical education, health equity, and systems of care reform.
As the current executive director of Project Prana Foundation, a
global health nonprofit, she leads the design of Health Systems Innovation learning programs, currently nurturing 50+ students at Harvard's Global Alliance for Medical Innovation, managing a portfolio of 8 global health innovation projects tackling urgent global health challenges with worldwide clinical partners. Spearheaded by Janani, the foundation works on new ways to engage students of all career stages, through meaningful partnerships with institutions and nonprofits such as Duke University, University of Michigan, Stanford University, IIT Madras, ARSI India, & Health in your Hands Diagnostics to name a few. In 2026, Project Prana aims to educate over 500 students in 10 countries globally.
Janani also co-founded CAREspaces (501c3), the first and only comprehensive system of care addressing gender-based violence in Indian performing arts communities. Under her leadership, CAREspaces has trained community members in culturally responsive mental health support, delivered over 1,000 hours of transnational peer support, and provided trauma-informed resources to survivors worldwide.
Today, Janani brings her innovation and systems reform expertise to CAIRA, to close the care gaps caused by systemic workflow barriers. She brings her years of experience running strategic operations and systemic change in global social enterprises to lead product vision, systems reform, and company strategy at CAIRA. With any of her innovations and leadership, Janani strives to continue building inclusive, sustainable systems centered on equity and accessibility for all.
Along with Jillian, Janani led the CAIRA team to win at the prestigious AAPM Hacking Pain Pitch Competition in 2026.
