Gregor Petrič, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor for Social Informatics and a Chair of Center for Methodology and Informatics at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana (Slovenia). His research work is generally in the fields of social informatics, ICT&society, social science methodology and online health. Currently he focuses on
issues of online health communities, interaction, power relations, trust, social support, opinion processes and empowerment in online communities and social network sites. In addition, he is involved in web survey methodology and research of management of online communities
He regularly publishes in international scientific journals, such as The Information Society, Computers in Human Behavior, Cyberspsychology, behavior and social networking, Online information review. He is also involved into several national and international research projects.
On the Faculty of Social Sciences he is responsible for the graduate study of Social Informatics and teaches subjects like Internet and Society, Research seminar, Introduction to Social Informatics. He is also a regular lecturer at the ECPR Summer School in data analysis and techniques.
