Dr Lithgow is Chief Academic Officer at the Buck Institute for Research on Aging, and is an expert on small molecules which can extend lifespan of model systems such as C. Elegans. Gordon is internationally recognized for his work on aging with numerous awards and prizes. Gordon obtained his B.Sc and PhD at the University of Glasgow, before working
in the pharmaceutical industry. He then rejoined academia, and collaborated with Simon Melov in his post-doctoral studies, and has continued to collaborate with Dr Melov for nearly 25 years. Gordon joined the Buck Institute for Research on Aging in 2000, and is a co-founder of Gerostate Alpha.
