Ellen Scharaga has served as an operational consultant with Alegria Specialty Pharmacy since 2014. Her duties include the development of specialty medications, including those that treat chronic conditions such as HIV, arthritis, and infertility. Her work includes input and considerations from a diverse group of stakeholders including patients,
physicians, and manufacturers, with the goal of improving patient outcomes. As an undergraduate at St. John’s University, Ellen Scharaga studied pharmaceutical sciences, graduating with a bachelor's in pharmacology in 1982.
When not working with Alegria Specialty Pharmacy, Ellen Scharaga stays active in professional societies and enjoys a range of hobbies. She supports the Alzheimer's Foundation, as well as the American Cancer Society, with a particular focus on its leukemia and lymphoma work. Ms. Scharaga is also a member of the Pharmaceutical Society of New York and the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy. In her downtime, she enjoys unwinding by reading, walking, and shopping.
