Doug Otto, the son of two high school educators, was born in 1951. He graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara, in 1973 with a BA in Business-Economics. That same year, he co-founded Deckers Brands (NYSE: DECK), a footwear company that owns the UGG®, Teva®, HokaOneOne®, and Sanuk® brands. He served as a director from the
Company’s inception and as Chairman of the Board from 1982 until he retired in 2008. Mr. Otto also served as an executive officer from the Company’s inception, including as Chief Executive Officer from 1982, to 2005.
Mr. Otto is currently a WPO (World Presidents Organization) member and a former member of YPO (Young Presidents Organization). He served as Chairman of the Board and President of The Whale Beach Foundation until 2010, and has served on numerous school boards since 1994
Mr. Otto lives in Australia with his wife and his youngest son. He also has two children who live in California. His passions are surfing and educating the next generation, and he enjoys all watersports, snowboarding, and traveling.
