Dilip Asbe is the Managing Director and CEO of the National Payments Corporation of India. He Previously worked as a Chief Technology Officer at Hitachi Payment Services. He has played a pivotal role in designing, building, operationalisation and management of large scale innovative payments processing platforms like Unified Payments Interface
(UPI), Bharat Interface for Money (BHIM), Immediate Payment Service (IMPS) and India’s home grown card network RuPay. A man with a passion for technology and people, Mr. Asbe was the first employee of the organisation and he helped it grow to over 1,000 employees. Mr. Asbe’s achievements in NPCI include building high capacity platforms which are helping the nation to transform into less-cash. He is strong leader who has ensured the delivery of processing over 1 billion transactions a month with good mentoring of teams. He has maintained strong networks in Financial Services / Payment Eco-System in the Asia Pacific region since the last 20 years. To his credit there are major achievements like setting up of the infrastructure for Euronet worldwide for Asia Pacific region and for Prizm Payments Services in India. He holds a Master of Science (MSc) Degree in Global Management (Executive Programme) from London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) with Merit at London, United Kingdom.
