Devon joined High Peaks in 2005 and is responsible for sourcing deals, evaluating opportunities, leading due diligence projects and working with entrepreneurs both pre and post funding. He focuses on deals in software, digital media and technology enabled services while also supporting the fundâ€™s activity in the clean tech and medical device industries. Devon is a frequent panelist for business plan competitions and guest lecturer on venture capital and entrepreneurship.
Prior to entering the venture capital industry, Devon co-founded a start-up that developed one of the first Software as a Service (SaaS) implementations of Business Intelligence and Analytic software for mid-market clients, a strategy that has since been adopted by the industry leaders. During the companyâ€™s lifecycle, during which the team brought two products to market and achieved revenue traction, he was responsible for business strategy, product management and sales.
Devon began his career as a technology consultant leading business intelligence, data warehousing and application development projects for clients in the manufacturing, distribution and business service sectors. In this role he worked closely with senior business managers to bridge the gap between business problems and technology solutions, managed joint sales efforts with major ISVâ€™s and was a frequent speaker at software user groups, seminars and conferences.
Devon holds a B.S. in Management Information Systems from Clarkson University where he also completed core coursework in mechanical and electrical engineering. While at Clarkson, Devon was a founding member and Vice President of the universityâ€™s Tae Kwon Do team.
