Professionally, Demian Sellfors is the CEO/Co-founder of (mt) Media Temple and (mt) Ventures. He also serves as an angel investor and advisor to a number of technology related start-ups. Outside of business he is traveling the world and enjoying time in Venice, CA with family, friends, and nature.
Over the last decade, Sellfors has guided (mt) Media Temple in becoming a worldwide brand known for its exceptional customer service, high-traffic hosting capability, and innovative work culture. His business serves over 1 million websites and employs 175 full-time US based staff members. Together with CFO, John Carey, the company provides service to thousands of small businesses - as well as notable enterprises such as Starbucks, ABC, Sony, Nike, Diesel, and Adobe. Sellfors has helped the firm earn a variety of awards for excellence including being a rare 5-time Inc 500/5000 award winner, 10th best place to work in Los Angeles, and is repeatedly honored as one of the fastest growing companies in America.
In 2010, Sellfors helped raise $15 million in capital from Triangle/GMB to aid (mt) Media Temple in the growth of becoming one of the largest cloud service providers in the world. Prior to the aforementioned financing, Sellfors also founded (mt) Ventures, an investment and advisory subsidiary to assist startups including; Virb, Koding, Mobile Roadie, and Krop. Most recently (August 2011) Sellfors facilitated the acquisition of Reinvigorate by Webtrends, a Portland based analytics company, providing the first exit for his team.
Prior to co-founding (mt) Media Temple, in 1998, Sellfors created Intergress Technologies, a web hosting provider, and began his journey as an early tech entrepreneur. Operating the company from a small apartment, Sellfors achieved success by developing a niche business model which served creative professionals in the production and publication of websites. Shortly after founding Intergress, Sellfors was acquired by one of his customers, (mt) Media Temple. The two businesses were integrated and Sellfors was appointed CEO.
Prior to becoming a business owner, in 1994 Sellfors joined the legendary Stan Winston to help build the company's first IT systems. Over the course of 5 years, Sellfors was appointed CTO and made responsible for ushering the special effects studio into the digital era by transforming the company's creative, engineering, and business workflow. Sellfors' has been credited on a variety movies with notable projects including "Jurassic Park - The Lost World" and Michael Jackson's long-form music video "Ghosts".
Sellfors began his professional career in Los Angeles as a young graphic designer and since has persisted a passion for beauty and simplicity in all of his endeavors.
