David Slayden is the Executive Director and Founder of BDW––an internationally recognized experimental design studio whose mission is the rethinking of technology to innovate seamless integration of users and their environments. BDW’s design disposition is user-centered and its executional preoccupation focuses on the Internet of Things (IOT) to
extend and expand the possibilities of being human.
BDW’s Designer Founder Accelerator is the foremost expression of its mission and has since 2009 developed exceptional talent for the creative industries. Graduates of BDW’s accelerated postgraduate program populate top national and international agencies: including Deutsch, LA, RGA, Crispin, Porter + Bogusky, 72 and Sunny, Wieden + Kennedy, and startups, design firms, and mature companies such as Pinterest, Uber, Twitter, and Apple, ESPN and General Mills.
David has consulted for and/or advised a wide range of companies, including Omnicom, Saatchi, Microsoft, BMW, Mav 6, Future Partners, Innocean, and Colorado Creative Industries.
David is also currently a director in the ATLAS Institute and a professor in the College of Media, Communications, and Information––both at the University of Colorado Boulder.
