David Sampson, CPA has extensive experience working with both small and medium-sized companies in rapidly growing environments and with large publicly traded companies. Prior to joining Xenter, Mr. Sampson was Chief Financial Officer for Tolero Pharmaceuticals, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company dedicated to the discovery and development
of novel therapeutics to treat cancer and other serious human diseases. After Tolero was acquired by Sumitomo Dainippon Pharma Co., Ltd., he continued as the CFO of the Tolero subsidiary and worked directly with other subsidiaries on multiple complex accounting and finance issues including merging Tolero with another affiliated company.
Prior to Tolero, Mr. Sampson served as Vice President of Finance and Principal Accounting Officer of Fusion-io, Inc, a computer hardware and software systems company that designed and manufactured products using flash memory technology. During his time at Fusion-io, Mr. Sampson helped lead the company to dramatic sales growth from $36 million to over $400 million, conducted an initial public offering, and expanded Fusion-io internationally until the company was ultimately acquired by SanDisk Corporation for a value exceeding $1 billion.
Prior to his time at Fusion-io, Mr. Sampson was Vice President of Finance for Ancestry.com, Inc. where he oversaw all financial and accounting, treasury, and credit card processing aspects of the company and was instrumental in the company’s international expansion, acquisitions, and initial public offering. Mr. Sampson also spent 12 years of his career at Ernst and Young in Palo Alto, California and Salt Lake City, Utah where he assisted small entrepreneurial to large multinational companies with technical accounting issues, debt-financing arrangements, initial public offerings, and compliance with SEC filing requirements. Mr. Sampson is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of California and Utah and has a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Brigham Young University.
