David graduated from Colgate University with a Math degree and a Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia. David previously worked in the financial industry holding various securities licenses and working for State Street Bank, American Express, Merrill Lynch, and Johnson and Johnson. Afterwards, David started his legal career working in big
law later becoming a Judge Advocate, eventually earning the title of Chief of Military Justice. As head of the justice division and previously as a prosecutor in the Special Victims Unit, David investigated and prosecuted matters involving sexual assault, drug trafficking, organized crime, and fraud against the United States government.
David is a decorated military officer, having earned the prestigious Air Force Commendation Medal in 2013.
Dave Madgett is an accomplished litigator who honed his skills while serving as a Judge Advocate in the United States Air Force. David Madgett is a founding member of the Center for Data Privacy and has been a committed public servant his entire legal career.
