DAVID KESSLER, a partner of the Firm, concentrates his practice in the area of securities litigation and co-manages the Firm’s nationally recognized securities litigation practice.
Mr. Kessler has served as lead or co-lead counsel in numerous class actions brought under the Federal Securities Laws and the Private Securities Litigation Reform
Act. Since the financial crisis commenced in 2008, Mr. Kessler has helped recover well over $5 billion for clients and class members including some of the largest settlements in the history of securities class actions. Prior to that point in time, Mr. Kessler was involved in some of the largest cases both in size, including the IPO allocation matter which involved over 300 public companies, and in notoriety, including the case brought against Tyco, which resolved for over $3 billion.
As part of his practice, Mr. Kessler has been actively involved in actions related to losses sustained in connection with public offerings, open market purchases, and mergers & acquisitions. Mr. Kessler also has expertise in the area of mediation, settlements, claims administration and distribution as he also manages the securities litigation department’s settlement division.
A frequent lecturer on securities litigation issues, Mr. Kessler has been invited to speak by plaintiffs’ firms, defense firms, mediators and insurance carriers on a variety of topics related to securities class actions.
Prior to becoming licensed as an attorney, Mr. Kessler served as a CPA.
