Current focus is exclusively on next-generation functional and technical architecture. David's primary task is to figure out NOW what the financial management system of the next 3, 5 or more years should look like and start working toward it. Areas of interest are blockchain, AI and Machine Learning and new UX and interaction paradigms.
David is a Senior Director in the Oracle Research and Development Organization, with close to 20 years working in various roles on the development of the Financial Management product suite. He started with Oracle in the UK building features for EMEA, moving to Oracle HQ in Silicon Valley in 2000 to lead the team building a new module for Intercompany processing. He took on ownership of more products(having product management, Engineering and QA teams) for the new Fusion Cloud Financials Suite, built from the ground up for the cloud. He has also led a number of initiatives across the division including embedded BI, integrated social collaboration and data visualizations. Most recently he was responsible for design, build and launching, Accounting Hub Reporting Cloud Service which has for several years been generating millions of dollars in revenue every quarter.
