David Goffin oversees all creative, production, and media for The Content Works Studios working for brands and entertainment studios. TCWS produces Taking Charge, profiling the amazing world of electric cars, shot in the world’s first self-driving studio. Prior to The Content Works, David was a founding partner in VIMBY (“Video In My Backyard”) the
first nationwide digital content studio, funded by Mark Burnett (Survivor, The Voice) and formerly part of MGM/UA Studios. He managed VIMBY’s relationship with Walmart, including their biggest, most successful marketing campaign in the Walmart’s 54-year history; the “Local Basket Claim”. (Effie Award, 2014, 2015, Walmart 2014 Marketing Supplier of the Year) VIMBY’s work included developing and producing original content, branded entertainment, television and digital commercials, Network TV after shows, digital companion series, VIMBY’s clients included Facebook, MTV, NBC, Hearst Publications and Hearst Entertainment, Walgreen’s, Pepsico, Intel, Kleenex, Allstate, DeVry, New Era, Puma, Hyundai, Scion, General Mills and MasterCard. We worked alongside many major Advertising Agencies.
Prior to VIMBY, Goffin was a Show Creator and Executive Producer with Mark Burnett Productions, Fox Sports and FremantleMedia. With Burnett, he produced the Emmy award-winning adventure race Eco-Challenge and the military Special Forces reality competition show Combat Missions. After that, he was hired by FremantleMedia to supervise the production of the first four cycles of American Idol, which became the biggest show in television history. Mark Burnett tapped Goffin to co-create and executive produce Rock Star: INXS, a 3-night per week music competition that aired in on CBS and in over 70 countries. Rock Star was the first show with live international public voting. Goffin also developed and executive produced with Steven Spielberg the Fox reality competition show On the Lot, Spielberg’s first network television show in 10 years.
