Newtown, Pennsylvania, resident David DiMella studies aerospace engineering at Daytona Beach, Florida's Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Upon graduating, David DiMella will pursue a career in aerodynamics in the aviation or automotive industries.
Before attending Embry-Riddle, Mr. DiMella graduated from Princeton High School in New
Jersey. He was also part of the John Witherspoon Middle School team, which won the United States Department of Energy's New Jersey Regional Middle School Science Bowl at the Princeton Physics Laboratory. This allowed him to compete against 49 other teams in the National Science Bowl in Washington, DC.
Mr. DiMella is a former member of the New Jersey Civil Air Patrol (CAP). As a cadet, he underwent specialized undergraduate pilot training (SUPT) at Columbus Air Force Base. In this course, he studied and engaged in flight simulations to acquire the skills and knowledge to become a US Air Force pilot. He also gained insights into leadership and the military.
In addition to his academic pursuits, Mr. DiMella supports the aviation community as a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association and the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. His expertise in stability analysis of private jets, such as the Learjet 24, allows him to make valuable contributions to the aviation community.
