Mr. Baker has over twenty years of global investing and mergers & acquisitions experience having completed complex transactions of numerous types including divestitures, acquisitions, joint ventures, equity investments and partnership agreements. Mr. Baker’s transaction and investing activity spans the globe with successful deals completed in
the U.S., Europe, Asia and South America.
Currently, Mr. Baker is the Managing Partner at Confidence Capital LLC a boutique merchant bank with a focus on medical technology companies.
Prior to founding Confidence Capital, Mr. Baker was a Managing Director with Lazard Middle Market LLC, a subsidiary of Lazard Ltd., where he advised healthcare and technology companies. Mr. Baker completed sell-side M&A assignments for principal-owned firms and private equity-owned firms.
At GE, Mr. Baker led the strategic planning for and the transaction activity for the GE Healthcare Information Technology business unit. The eighteen acquisitions Mr. Baker completed helped grow this business from $700 million of revenue to over $2.5 billion
Mr. Baker gained significant operating experience as part of the $2 billion acquisition of Instrumentarium Corporation, a Finland-based medical device company. Mr. Baker was based in Helsinki, Finland where he led a global 100-person acquisition integration team and was responsible for merging Instrumentarium’s 5,000 worldwide employees into GE Healthcare.
