Since the founding of DT back in 1996, Daniel Markel has put a lot of his real estate focus on multi-family real estate. His expertise in this field, particularly with adaptive reuse projects in Los Angeles, has been recognized by outlets such as The San Fernando Valley Business Journal. Eventually Daniel Markel decided to found a real estate brokerage firm known as DT Real Estate Investments. This was located in Studio City, California and Dan managed it from 2004 to 2008.

Daniel Markel is also the owner and operator of one of the most successful Jersey Mike's Subs franchises in the country. This was brought on by his love of sandwich and finger foods and eventually spawned his idea to create the holding company VJMS Dining, LLC, so he could own, operate and continue offering some of his favorite dishes to the customers that eat out at his establishments. The success he's seen in this industry has led Daniel to form agreements with Dog Haus and Hummus & Pita, Co. With both being located in the New York City area, this allowed Dan to expand their wares throughout the state of California and more.

Within the past year, Markel has taken on two new business endeavors. In March of 2019, Markel and his USC business school comrade formed a new holding company—Pure Blue Group. The Pure Blue Group encompasses all of Markel’s businesses across all industries. Markel is also working closely with MyLife Recovery, a company known for their revolutionary treatment of a long-lasting naltrexone implant. At the moment, Markel is working with a group of international doctors to bring another revolutionary, patented treatment in the wellness industry to Southern California in 2020.
