Chris Gerlach has more than 15 years of finance experience both in his current role as Vice President, Finance at SolarReserve and his work at several global banking institutions including HSBC and Société Générale.
In addition to his experience in the solar sector, he also worked in multiple other industries including oil & gas,
conventional power, transportation infrastructure, and telecommunications in more than 15 countries in the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Both in his current role and in his previous positions, Chris participated as leader and/or core team member in multiple landmark transactions six of which received Project Magazine and/or Project Finance International Deal of the Year Awards, including most recently the $586 million Letsatsi/Lesedi Utility Scale Photovoltaic Projects in South Africa for which SolarReserve acted as the lead developer
Chris was awarded an MSc in Shipping, Trade and Finance from the Caas Business School in London and a BSc (Honours) in Economics and Business Studies from the University of London. He speaks English, German, Portuguese, and Spanish.
