An attorney with a history of AV Preeminent ratings from Martindale-Hubbell, Bruce Givner has over 40 years' experience practicing tax law in California. He graduated with a juris doctor from Columbia Law School in 1976, after which he earned his master of laws in taxation from the New York University School of Law. He has concentrated on tax
law since the start of his career, during which he became proficient in income and estate tax planning, capital gains planning, charitable planning, and tax problems.
Mr. Givner currently serves as of counsel at the California-based KFB Rice, LLP, previously KFB Law Group. His clientele primarily consists of high-net worth-individuals who own valuable investments or closely held businesses in sectors such as manufacturing, medical, agriculture, entertainment, and apparel. He provides capital gains tax, estate tax and ordinary income tax planning advice. He also offers counsel on matters pertaining to business-entity formation and maintenance. Additionally, he represents clients in Internal Revenue Service audits and appeals, Franchise Tax Board audits, and State Board of Equalization appeals.
Bruce Givner has authored several books on taxation, including Estate Tax Elimination, Maximizing Pension Deductions for Owners of Closely Held Businesses, and Introduction to Capital Gains Tax Planning. He also wrote chapters for editions of California Will Drafting, California Trust Administration, and other CEB texts.
