Bruce is a Senior Vice President at Swiss Re America. He has been an actuary working at Swiss Re for over 20 years. He heads an actuarial team working on structured reinsurance transactions, focusing on the Americas and Australia/New Zealand. Prior to his time at Swiss Re, Bruce worked at Munich Re in NYC, Milliman & Robertson in NYC, and
Metropolitan Property & Casualty Insurance Company in Rhode Island. He received a BS in Business Administration and Mathematics at the University of New Hampshire in 1988. He studied Austrian economics at New York University in the late 1990s.
Bruce has been involved in Blockchain technology for the last 2 years. He is a member of Swiss Re's Global Blockchain Working Group & Swiss Re's Blockchain working group in the Americas. He has presented on Bitcoin & Blockchain regularly over the last year and a half.
There is a saying in the bitcoin/blockchain world about people who get "hooked" on the challenge to understand this technology, and it certainly applies to Bruce. He is "far down the rabbit hole" in learning about and being excited about this new, evolving technology.
