Brian Sumers is a Los Angeles-based correspondent for Aviation Week magazine and a contributor to Conde Nast Traveler.
At Aviation Week, Brian covers airlines in the Americas, with a special emphasis on U.S. and Canadian carriers. He focuses on the business of airlines, probing how and why they make strategic decisions. In one story, Brian broke
news that United Airlines was considering a high-density Boeing 777 subfleet with 10 seats across - rather than the typical nine - in economy class.
For Conde Nast Traveler, Brian focuses on consumer travel issues, writing about topics such as food, seats and the overall passenger experience.
Brian is a magna cum laude graduate of Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism, and he holds a master's degree in journalism from the University of Southern California's Annenberg School. He has worked for the Tampa Bay Times, St. Louis Post-Dispatch and Los Angeles News Group. His work has also appeared in the Los Angeles Times and L.A. Weekly.
This is Brian's personal blog, a chance to have a bit of fun and reach a broader audience. Some of the material is stuff that didn't quite make to publication. Other posts are about issues important to airline passengers, such frequent flier programs, cheap fares and airport amenities.
