In addition, Bill's 20+ years of telecommunications, media, internet and software experience helps INRIX drive demand for its industry leading traffic and navigation services by mobile navigation app developers, mobile operators and device manufacturers worldwide. Prior to INRIX, Schwebel was senior vice president & general manager of AOL's mobile group and president of Tegic Communications, Inc., the makers of T9 predictive text input software that has shipped over 3 billion mobile phones in more than 65 languages. During his tenure, Schwebel successfully built Tegic into one of the Top 5 mobile software providers before selling the company to Nuance Communications, Inc. While leading AOL's mobile group, Mr. Schwebel developed, launched, and grew the first large-scale mobile internet offering to over 10 million consumers, worldwide. At its peak, AOL Mobile accounted for more than 20 percent of all mobile messages sent or received in North America. Previously, Bill pioneered intelligent network, wireless broadband, and advanced mobile offerings in the telecommunications, media, and energy industries at a variety of companies including U S WEST, Time Warner, and Uptown Services.
