Mr. Shaoul founded Magnum Real Estate Group in 1998 in New York City. Since its inception, he has led the firm with a simple tenet: acquire property, develop it to its maximum potential, and manage it effectively. Under Mr. Shaoul’s guidance, the company has become a prestigious, vertically integrated real estate company with a growing $6 billion portfolio consisting predominantly of mixed-use development with small and big box retail, value-add residential, and new construction for rent, sale, and dormitory development. Notable projects include 100 Barclay in Tribeca, 196 Orchard on the Lower East Side, 340 East 24th Street in Kips Bay, and 100 Avenue A in the East Village. In 2022, he established Thrive Living, the company’s affordable and workforce housing development and investment affiliate that is committed to solving the housing crisis by creating non-subsidized residential supply and mixed use communities.
Mr. Shaoul is a native New Yorker born in Forest Hill, Queens, to parents who immigrated from Iran. He was raised in Great Neck, New York, and now resides in the West Village with his wife, Megan Walsh Shaoul, and their four children and two dogs. Mr. and Mrs. Shaoul are philanthropic at heart and are involved with several Jewish community groups. Mr. Shaoul also sits on the Board of Directors of Hudson River Park Friends, a non-profit dedicated to the completion, care, and enhancement of Hudson River Park on the West side of Manhattan.
