Barnaby Dorfman is founder and CEO of Foodista.com, a Seattle-based food and cooking Web startup.
Barnaby has been an entrepreneur and executive in the consumer Internet space for over a decade. After Amazon.com acquired Bibliofind.com in 1999, where he was general manager, Barnaby led a team to define new product categories in the Amazon Marketplace, including the Gourmet Food Store. During his 7 years at Amazon, other key roles included vice president of A9.com, the search technology division, and director at the Internet Movie Database subsidiary, where he created IMDbPro.com. More recently, Barnaby was Chief product officer at startups Peerflix.com and Kyte.tv.
Early in his career, Barnaby was general manager of Marsee Baking in Portland, OR, one of the first European style bakery-cafes in the Pacific Northwest. Barnaby grew the company from founding to 4 stores and 100 wholesale accounts. The chain later grew to 18 units and was acquired by Tully’s.
Barnaby graduated magna cum laude with a BS in international business from California State University and earned an MBA from the Tuck School at Dartmouth College.
