Prof. Dr. Armin Rott is a Professor of Media Economy at Hamburg University and Academic Director of Media Management at the Hamburg Media School. He is a regular Visiting Scholar at the Department of Managerial Economics as well as the Department of Entrepreneurship and New Venture Formulation at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern
University in Chicago. Armin Rott studied Business Management and Macroeconomics at Bayreuth University and wrote his doctoral thesis in Macroeconomics at the TU Dortmund. Afterward, he became a junior professor of Macroeconomics at Hamburg University. As a founding member of the Hamburg Media School, he was responsible for the curriculum development and didactic concept of the MBA course in Media Management. Later, he accepted the chair of Media Economics and International Management at the Bauhaus University in Weimar. His research and teaching foci are media economics, empirical competition research and strategic enterprise leadership and foundation management.
