Andrew Mchenry

Coin Collector at Rorotika Mobile. Prior to this, he was Head of Mobile and Content at Garmap, with the overall responsibility of running and driving the Garmap mobile and content business. Andrew is the brains behind growing Garmap’s mobile navigation install base to well over 300,000 in South Africa only, securing major contracts with handset OEMs and MNOs.

Before joining Garmap, Andrew was employed for five years with Leaf International Communication, having spent two years heading up Leaf’s African expansion, selling HTC handsets to mobile operators and partners in Sub-Saharan African. Before he took on the African expansion role, Andrew was Leaf’s executive account manager on the MTN SA business, managing the MTNLoaded portal, which at the time was the largest mobile VAS portal in Africa with over one million paying subscribers.

Andrew has over 20 years experience in the information technology industry, spanning software, hardware and custom application development. He has held various positions in sales and marketing, including as Head of Packard Bell NEC South Africa, and spearheaded the launching of NEC Direct. Before joining NEC, Andrew was a founding member of Aqua Online with the position Marketing Manager. Andrew has experience within the ITC industry including international experience, with 9 years in North America and two years based in London in a pan-European managerial role in channel sales, corporate sales, telesales and product management.
