Andrew Bartnikowski brings more than two decades of combined public and private sector experience in financial planning, emergency management, training, and program management. Since 2012, he has served with the City of Columbus Division of Fire as a Firefighter and Lead Paramedic, following earlier service in Worthington, OH, and Bluffton
Township, SC. Responding to more than 10,000 emergency calls, Andrew has earned a reputation for decisive leadership, strategic thinking, and exceptional patient care under pressure. A proven trainer and mentor, Andrew has instructed at the Firefighter Academy, led live fire training exercises, and educated recruits and in-service personnel in safety, emergency response, and fire prevention. His collaborative leadership extends beyond the fireground because he has served as a union steward, negotiation committee member, and representative in administrative investigations, helping shape a $300M labor contract and new safety protocols. Andrew’s commitment to service includes founding the Class 12/10/12 Foundation, a nonprofit supporting families of injured or fallen firefighters and addressing first responder suicide, raising over $150,000. His career foundation also includes roles in mortgage planning, construction project management, and skilled trades. Holding a BS in Resource Management from The Ohio State University, Andrew is certified in Paramedicine, Fire Instruction, HAZMAT, Rope Rescue, and multiple specialized disciplines. His professional affiliations include the International Association of Fire Fighters, the Ohio Association of Professional Fire Fighters, and Ohio State University Alumni Association.
