After diving headfirst into the iOS SDK back in December of 2011 and coming out 1 week later with a simple Flashlight app that is now used by more than 300 people a day, I never looked back. I immediately fell in love with the possibilities mobile phone development brought to the table and have now built 3 iPhone apps of my own and worked for 2
mobile based startups, WhatsApp and Happier.
My first internship was with WhatsApp Inc. during the summer of 2012. At WhatsApp I spent a lot of time working their in-house support and translation team to build an in house CMS for the support documents. Although I did not get to spend anytime working on their iPhone app, I spent nearly all of my non-work hours building joox.fm (http://joox.fm). A music app that aimed to make listening to music with friends more fun.
From there I landed a 6 month internship at Happier Inc. where I worked one-on-one with their lead iOS dev to help build their premiere 1.0 Happier client and ship it to the App Store. After a huge demand for a Web and Android client, I started building Happier's webapp https://www.happier.com. I built happier.com from the ground up using cutting edge HTML5 technologies like localStorage, pushState and AppCache.
