Prior to joining UPMC, Amy spent 10 years at the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services. Her roles there included serving as deputy director,
Center for Quality Improvement & Patient Safety at the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ); chief medical officer and director of health IT safety and clinical informatics at the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology; and team lead of the Patient Safety Organization Program in the Center for Quality Improvement & Patient Safety at AHRQ. A medical doctor and board-certified physician executive, Amy has also served as medical director for several organizations.
