Alan joined 3i in 2005 and is Managing Partner, co-Head of Private Equity and part of 3i’s Executive Committee and Investment Committee, having previously been Global Sector Head for Business Services.
Prior to joining 3i he spent 13 years in investment banking, latterly as Managing Director at Societe Generale, where he was Global Head of
Transport & Business Services, advising a range of quoted and private equity owned businesses. Alan started his career as a chartered accountant at KPMG.
Since joining 3i Alan has worked on the buyouts of a number of businesses both in the UK and internationally. He currently sits on the boards of Environmental Scientifics Group, Mayborn and Element Materials Technology (formerly SMT).
