Akber has more than 18 years’ experience in the investment industry. He is Senior Director, Asset Management and has been with Al Rayan Investment since early 2009, where is responsible for client portfolios, now in excess of $900 million. Prior to Al Rayan, Akber spent over 11 years at Deutsche Bank, London where, having started as a trader, he
went on to hold senior research positions in both European and Emerging Markets equities. He was latterly equity strategist for Central & Eastern Europe, Middle East & Africa. Akber graduated from University College London, UK. From 2013-2016 he has been in MENA Fund Manager Magazine’s ‘Power 50’ list of the “most influential, innovative and powerful people” in the regional industry.
