Adam Bergstein is the Managing Member of Patent Protection Research (formerly PharmaShield), a company focused on hedging branded pharmaceutical products against losses of patent protection resulting from generic challenges. As part of that venture, Mr. Bergstein created the first known data model that accurately predicts litigation outcomes and
timing in branded pharmaceutical patent cases. Prior to that, Mr. Bergstein worked inside the health economics group at RAND Corporation, during which time he created derivatives with the former Chief Economist of the FDA to help mitigate risks within the broader healthcare markets.
From 1998 through 2006, Mr. Bergstein was a private equity investor in the healthcare - primarily pharma and pharma services - and technology sectors at various firms first on the east coast, and then in the Chicago area. Mr. Bergstein graduated with an MBA from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management with concentrations in finance and organizational behavior, and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics with honors from the University of Pennsylvania.
