YouthSF operates a non-profit STEM and media education program for K-12 students, with a focus on youth from underserved populations. The organization uses its TEC REC pedagogy to combine hands-on recreation and structured instruction in areas such as robotics, coding, circuit building, 3D modeling, web development, and maker and media arts.
YouthSF runs after-school labs, seasonal summer camps, and mobile programs delivered on school sites, as well as virtual enrichment through the Mike Homer Innovation Program. Its student-centered model emphasizes project-based, real-world activities that encourage collaboration, creative problem-solving, and communication. YouthSF also supports youth-created arcade-style games and video projects, and partners with local schools and agencies to integrate its programs into broader educational offerings.
