Viva Salud is a non-governmental organization that works to defend and promote the universal right to health. The organization supports grassroots social movements, unions, and health organizations through institutional partnerships, financial grants, and strategic capacity-building. Viva Salud focuses on contexts marked by inequality and conflict,
such as Palestine, the Philippines, Cuba, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and cooperates with partners like AWDA in Gaza. It develops advocacy campaigns, public dossiers, and policy papers against the commercialization of public healthcare and in favor of equitable health systems. The organization also engages in political education, public awareness work, and international networking within structures such as the People’s Health Movement. Its activities combine field programs with advocacy in Europe to link local struggles to broader health and human rights agendas.
